Jennifer Garner is a West Virginia native who was born in Houston on the 17th of April, 1972. Her father, William John Garner, worked as a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann Garner taught in an institution near to her. In order to continue in the tradition of her father, she earned a degree as a chemical engineer. So that she could achieve her dream of becoming an actress, she relocated into New York. While appearing in Broadway shows, she was employed as a waitress. The TV show "Felicity," she had an appearance in a brief scene. (It was on this show that she met their husband Scott Foley. Garner made her mark with"the romantic comedy "13 going on thirty" in which she played the role of a teenage girl trapped within an adult's body. Garner chose Gary Winick, who directed the film. Both Winick and Garner continued to work together in pursuing other projects even after the death of Winick. Garner was named an artist ambassador by Save the Children U.S.A. This role entails national literacy, nutrition, early education and different aspects. Garner was appointed to the board of directors of this non-profit organization in 2014. Garner advocates for early developmental stages of children. In her role as an ambassador for the organization, Garner frequently visits with families involved in the group's Early Steps to School Success program.
